Facilities staff provided a multi-campus status update covering completed summer maintenance and projects scheduled for incoming terms.
Ernesto (facilities staff) listed work done over the summer: repairs in a Culinary Arts room (gas, water, garbage disposals), reseeding and weed removal at the football field, ceiling-tile replacement at Vasquez High School, bungalow roof repairs and repainting at Bridal Arc Elementary, and playground safety upgrades, including sand/mulch and added fencing at the district office. He noted that some sites received LED-light retrofits but Vasquez High did not qualify for grant funding because of its age.
Committee members asked about timing and testing for a districtwide rollout. Staff said pilot testing is underway and that larger rollouts (for example, installing new roofs) are being scheduled to occur during winter break where possible to limit disruption. The facilities update included photos and a campus-by-campus list of outstanding items and next steps, and staff committed to returning with further details and timelines.
