County approves sale of 0.05-acre surplus parcel in Brigham for $1,750

The Box Elder County Commission voted to approve disposal of county-owned surplus parcel O3-082-0067, a very small sliver of land near North 40 in Brigham (approximately 0.05 acres).
Scott Lyons, who provided the staff background, said the county received the parcel via tax deed in 2014, the planning commission found no conflict with the county general plan, and the county has prepared a deed. Lyons told the commission the sales price is $1,750 and that the county will hold the deed until payment clears the bank. Commissioner Perry moved to approve the sale as explained by staff and Commissioner Vincent seconded; the motion carried.
Commissioners said the sale returns the parcel to the tax rolls and may help neighboring property owners with access or water issues; the matter was handled as a discrete surplus disposition on the agenda.
