The committee discussed planning for a possible special town meeting. Chair Jillian Prendergast said articles under consideration include budget items, zoning amendments, creation of a stabilization account, and a transfer for community aggregation program coordinator support. She noted that article submission deadlines mean recommendations from the finance committee would be due by September 9 if an STM is scheduled.
Prendergast also reported that the town may expect winter recovery assistance (wrap) funding of about "$108,889 and some change potentially." The committee noted scheduling constraints — citizen-petition deadlines fall after the committee's recommendation deadline — and discussed how printing and mailings for a town meeting could be costly and logistically challenging.
