Committee OKs $62,000 HR Green supplement for Hill and Montgomery intersection design

The committee approved resolution 26-0431 authorizing the mayor to execute a local public agency amendment and a phase-2 supplemental engineering services agreement with HR Green, Inc., for up to $62,000 to cover IDOT-requested scope additions for the Hill Avenue and Montgomery Road intersection project.
Rupan Janapam of Public Works Engineering described added through lanes on Hill Avenue, right-turn lanes on Montgomery Road, sidewalks and bike paths, and noted the project received CMAQ and Bill Foster funds. "The anticipated letting date for this project is September 2027," Janapam said. He told members the right-of-way approvals are underway and that final negotiations will follow IDOT approval.
Committee members asked about jurisdictional ownership of the intersection corners and right-of-way status; Janapam clarified which legs are under IDOT, City of Aurora, and private ownership. The motion to approve the supplemental agreement passed unanimously, 5-0.
