Planning panel finds FY 2026–27 capital improvement program consistent with general plan

Erica Amazidis presented the City of American Canyon’s fiscal year 2026–27 Capital Improvement Program on July 30 and asked the Planning Commission to find the CIP consistent with the general plan. The program lists 44 projects, including several highlights staff emphasized for the coming year.
"There are 44 capital improvement projects budgeted currently for this fiscal year," Amazidis said, then outlined major projects: transforming the former corporation yard into the Nakamura Ecology Center, corporation yard pavement and drainage improvements, Melvin Park site and playground upgrades, Clark Ranch power improvements to support community events, completion of Green Island Road reconstruction and a Napa Valley Vine Trail connection, a long‑anticipated Zone 5 water pump station for upper elevations, Oak Hill tank repainting and security improvements, mobile‑home park water main upgrades, a resource and recovery high‑strength waste project at the water reclamation facility, and UV and recycled‑water facility rehabilitation work.
A resident, Debbie Runke, offered public comment praising the Northampton water main replacement and repaving work. The commission voted to adopt a resolution finding the CIP consistent with the general plan; the vote was unanimous.
