The Town of Nutter Fort council voted Aug. 13 to authorize the purchase of a 2024 Ford Super Duty F‑350 for the Public Works department and to pay off the remaining balance on a 2015 EMS ambulance, using Sales & Use tax funding.
Councilor Charlene Louk moved to approve the F‑350 purchase and to pay off the ambulance; Councilor Karen Phillips seconded both motions and the measures passed by unanimous vote. The council discussed fleet needs: Public Works currently has two tool trucks, two dump trucks with plow capability, one summer truck and two plow trucks; two vehicles are approaching 10–12 years of service and two replacements will be covered by grant funding next year.
Treasurer Leslie Cummings confirmed the purchases will be funded from Sales & Use tax revenues. Public Works Supervisor Taylor Keith said the truck transferred to EMS retains snowplow capability if an emergency need arises. Council also recorded that additional Public Works replacements are not planned until 2029 absent new funding.
