Council approves $25,000 room-tax transfer for Forward Fitchburg marketing insert

"I'm just requesting to, transfer 25,000 in unrestricted room tax dollars into the public in info and education fund for a 1 time, kind of in business insert marketing piece," Mike Zimmerman said. He told the committee the proposal envisions four distinct one-page inserts timed with the business paper's editorial calendar, plus an email campaign and web presence; the inserts would be used for outreach and as a seed marketing packet for economic development work. The committee approved the budget amendment by voice vote.
