Operations Manager Matt Brooks presented an amended PFAS update and said staff have received some laboratory results while others remain pending. He told the board the District is "awaiting the finished water samples taken for the EPA" and has met with the Department of Drinking Water and consultant N2W on preliminary designs to reduce issues during project implementation.
Brooks reported a sample taken after a small sewage spill at an Arrowhead Lake Association bathroom on Burnt Mill Bay returned "10 parts per-trillion for PFOA." He also said a voluntary influent sample at the Grass Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant taken Aug. 22 is pending. The board received public comment during the PFAS discussion; staff will continue sampling and work with state and federal agencies as results become available.
