The presenter said the district will set a starting teacher salary at $60,087 for the 2025–26 school year and that every cell of the teacher salary schedule will receive a $4,000 increase, with step expansion from 28 to 30 years. Other staff will receive a 3% cost-of-living increase plus step adjustments to align with teachers.
Because the district lacks fiscal autonomy, the presenter explained the budget ordinance must undergo three county council readings; two readings are complete and the third is scheduled for June 23 at Burton Wells Recreation Facility. "That budget, which was approved by the board, certified by the board on May 20, is a $376,980,000 budget," the presenter said.
Board members had no additional questions during the meeting; the presenter said they anticipate full county-council support but noted the formal third reading requirement.
