The Sanilac County Board of Commissioners approved FA 149-24 on Oct. 1, contracting with Bangle Assessing Services LLC for equalization services at an amount not to exceed $80,000 and appointing Keegan Bangle as the county's equalization director.
Keegan Bangle introduced himself to the board, saying, "my name's Keegan...I am a level 4, assessor in the state of Michigan. I've been an assessor for about nine years now," and that he serves as equalization director for other counties and on the Michigan Association of Equalization Directors board. Bangle told commissioners his firm's experience with parcel counts and agricultural properties aligned well with Sanilac County's needs.
Chair John Black welcomed Bangle and the board approved the contract and appointment by voice vote. Commissioners asked Bangle whether he anticipated any substantial challenges; Bangle said the main task is integrating his approach with existing county practice and that he expected to sort that out during the first year.
