Sanilac County commissioners approve claims, budget amendments and multiple personnel actions

The Sanilac County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of routine fiscal and personnel items during its Oct. 1 meeting, voting unanimously by voice on several motions that were presented as proposed resolutions and contract actions.
The board approved FA 140-24, the payment of current claims for the general fund in the amount of $177,825.04, and then passed FA 141-24 to adopt budget amendments and establish the listed accounts. The board also authorized the posting and filling of multiple county positions: chief deputy election specialist/manager (pay grade 9), a district court clerk 1 (pay grade 4, step 1), and an assistant prosecuting attorney (pay grade 12.5). All motions were moved, supported, and carried by voice vote.
Other approved items included FA 146-24, an award to outfit a 2024 Chevy Tahoe K-9 PPV for the drug task force at a cost not to exceed $18,963 (funded by the drug task force), and FA 147-24, a one-year school intervention officer contract with Nicholas Nemitz effective Oct. 1, 2024, through Sept. 30, 2025. The board also authorized loans from the delinquent tax revolving fund to several named townships and parties for a total amount not to exceed $68,001.26 with interest at 3%.
All of the above were carried on voice votes as presented on the meeting agenda. The board did not amend the consent items beyond the noted contract and salary amendment described in other business.
