The Slaughterville Board of Adjustment on Jan. 6, 2026 approved a variance allowing a 1994 mobile home to be placed at 10421 103rd Street in the RL-1 Low Density Residential District. Chair Joyce Smith presided over the special meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. and a quorum of five members was present.
Applicant Michael Hester addressed the Board during the public hearing, saying the older unit would be brought into compliance with newer mobile-home standards and would not connect to the existing home's septic or electrical service. "the 1994 mobile home would be brought to code of newer mobile homes. Also, the mobile home would not be tying into septic or electric of existing home on the property," Hester told the Board.
Board member Steve Minor reported a site visit and said the pad for the mobile home had been prepared. Minor moved to approve the variance; Board member DeWayne Tolson seconded the motion. The Board voted YEA: Minor, Tolson, Smith, Killgore, Searcy; NAY: none. The motion carried, approving relief from the Town of Slaughterville Zoning Ordinance Part 13, Chapter 2, §13-203(B) for the property described as Section 10-7N-R1W in Planning Area C.
No further remarks were offered by commissioners or staff. Chair Joyce Smith adjourned the meeting at 7:22 p.m. Town Clerk Linda Butts recorded the minutes.
