Board members were told the electrical portion of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) project is complete and half of the retainage has been paid to contractor Tucker Mechanical. First Selectman G. Smith reported that DeCarlo & Doll is merging with engineering firm BETA, which has WWTP expertise, and that Woodard & Curran is another possible engineering firm for forthcoming phases.
Officials emphasized the town will select the engineering firm it judges will be in its best interest for subsequent WWTP work. No formal contract award to a new engineer was recorded at the July 14 meeting.
