Board of Finance to hold Special Meeting to approve $224,000 in budget transfers

The Beacon Falls Board of Finance will convene a Special Meeting to consider budget transfers approved by the Board of Selectmen on July 13, 2026, First Selectman G. Smith said. The transfers total $209,000 for the 2025–2026 fiscal year and $15,000 for 2026–2027, and two transfers exceed the $20,000 threshold that triggers a Town meeting.
Board members were provided transfer details with the meeting agenda and were told many of the line changes reflect year‑end wage payouts and various utility adjustments. No vote on the transfers occurred at the July 14 meeting because a full voting quorum was not present; the Board tabled approval of the June 9 minutes for the same reason. The Special Meeting will be scheduled so the Board of Finance can act on the transfers and any items requiring a Town meeting.
