Chair Anita Bonds presented PR 26-359, the confirmation resolution for Peter Winkler's reappointment to the Public Employee Relations Board, saying the nomination was previously considered and that his reappointment term would end on Dec. 12, 2028. "Mr. Winkler is a Ward 3 resident, a current member of the board, and an experienced labor relations professional and public administrator," Bonds said.
Bonds outlined Winkler's background at the National Labor Relations Board, where she said he worked as an attorney for 40 years, served as chief counsel and advisor to a five-member board, and appeared before federal courts including the United States Supreme Court. A committee member who asked questions (identified in the transcript as Councilmember Grama) said, "Peter Winkler is somebody who I have known for a number of years and is eminently qualified and paid for this position," endorsing his qualifications as the committee considered moving the nomination forward. The committee moved PR 26-359 into committee reports with leave for staff to make technical changes and approved the motion by voice vote.
