Sanilac County board approves claims, budget amendments and several routine contracts

The Sanilac County Board of Commissioners approved a package of routine fiscal and administrative items on Sept. 17, including claims payments, budget amendments and intergovernmental agreements.
Under new business the board approved payment of current claims for 2024 in the amount of $263,193.30 (accounts payable report dated 09/10/2024). The board also approved additional general fund checks charged to August 2024—$760,116.21 in ACH payments and $618,349.97 in checks—for a grand total of $1,378,466.18. Motions were made by Finance Chairman Sarkelos with support recorded from various commissioners; all motions carried by voice vote.
Other actions included approval of budget amendments and new accounts, authorization to post and fill a custodial position (pay grade 1 step 1), approval of a memorandum of understanding to expedite Central Dispatch billing, acceptance of an Ottawa County juvenile detention bed-rental agreement, awarding Martin Concrete Contracting the Lexington Park House concrete bid (cost transcribed as not to exceed $57.30—the transcript contains a numeric transcription anomaly), and formal acceptance of the previously presented 2023 audit report.
