Commissioner Roger Ballard told the board that Sanilac County parks have seen rising use and revenue this year, with several parks reporting record or near-record camping income.
"Every year to date... $442,435," Ballard reported for one park's camping revenue and said other parks are likewise up from last year; he added that Lexington year-to-date revenue had topped $105,640. Ballard described ongoing work at Evergreen and Lexington park facilities and said Evergreen's overall project costs are "pushing 750,000."
Ballard outlined operations and staffing items, including a manager vacancy at Forrester with a Friday application deadline and plans for cross-training the incoming manager. He said most park projects have proceeded despite higher material costs and that public support has helped maintain key elements of planned work without eliminations.
The board acknowledged the report but took no formal action on the parks items at the meeting; commissioners discussed coordinating project publicity and a future in-meeting presentation to mark the county's master-plan award.
