The Sanilac County Board of Commissioners approved several parks-related contracts at its Aug. 6 meeting. The board authorized Thompson Builders to replace soffits, trim, fascia and gable-end siding on the Forrester Park House at a cost not to exceed $19,700, funded from the parks millage. The motion carried by voice vote after a motion from Commissioner Evans Ehart and support from Commissioner Roger Ballard.
The board separately awarded Thompson Builders the bid to install seamless gutters for the Forrester Park House and pavilion at a cost not to exceed $4,214, also funded by the parks millage. Commissioners confirmed the gutters will be six-inch to accommodate the roof fall.
In addition, the board approved Amendment No. 2 to Roe Engineering Services' contract for the Pupbunk Golf Course project at Evergreen Park, authorizing up to $8,000 for additional coordination and engineering work with funding from the parks budget. Vice Chairman Ballard moved the Roe Engineering amendment; the motion carried by voice vote.
Taken together, the actions fund small capital repairs and continued project planning for county parks; no contested debate or roll-call votes were recorded in the meeting minutes for these items.
