Beacon Falls EDC approves downtown 'Welcome to Beacon Falls' Route 8 signs

Edward Korzon, EDC member, moved to approve a downtown Route 8 North/South 'Welcome to Beacon Falls' sign; the motion was seconded by Josepha McGeever Bruznicki and carried unanimously.
"EK made a motion to approve the downtown ‘Welcome to Beacon Falls,’ (Route 8 North/South) signage, seconded by JMB, approved all ayes." The commission reviewed bids from SIGNLite, Signcraft and Archers Signs and discussed costs and durable materials such as metal faces, non‑MDF substrates, vinyl lettering and DOT‑approved posts. Members emphasized keeping the new sign complementary to the present Main Street sign.
Emily Fitzgerald, the EDC coordinator, will follow up on current bids and request new design drafts based on the board's specifications; a separate vote will be held on an Industrial Park sign once design requirements are finalized.
