Commission approves Andrews reclassification to Rural Residential to consolidate neighbor lots

The commission approved Case 1642 to reclassify about 3.569 acres along Camden‑West Elkton Road from Special Use Provision to Rural Residential so part of the parcel can be conveyed to a neighbor and combined with adjacent residential tracts. Agent Stephen Pope explained the proposed division and said the change aligns the parcel classification with surrounding Rural Residential lots.
Pope told the board the reclassification would eliminate awkward lot lines and that the Nichols family sought the land to protect the view from their back patio. No public opposition appeared at the hearing; the board approved the request 4–0 and forwarded the matter to the County Commissioners for the April 1 hearing.
