The Select Board opened bids for 3,500 yards of sand and received two offers: Gerard Gingue quoted $33,915.00 ($9.69 per yard) and Simpson DirtWorx quoted $34,125.00 ($9.75 per yard). After attempting to contact Gingue and receiving no response, the board voted to award the contract to Simpson DirtWorx.
Highway Foreman Shane Heath also flagged maintenance needs: rotting boards on Patoine’s bridge (possible tree cutting to increase sunlight), an estimated $4,000 in repairs for Corey’s plow truck, a $4,054.26 cost to move sand-screen posts for maintenance, and a backhoe that remains out for repair.
