Slaughterville approves Henry Code Compliance contract after privacy assurances

The Town of Slaughterville Board of Trustees voted Feb. 24 to approve an agreement with Henry Code Compliance LLC to provide code compliance services through June 2026, with an annual renewal option thereafter. Trustee Brad Luby and Mayor Steve Easom joined Trustee Herb Rousey in supporting the contract; Trustees Leah Grady and Kathy Snellbaker opposed the motion. The approved contract includes an edit changing mileage references from Enid to Seminole.
Brian Henry, owner and COO of Henry Code Compliance, told the board the company would not enter private property to inspect and would rely on observations from public spaces. “No drones or or Google Earth would be used,” he said, and the firm follows a no-knock policy though staff “may speak to people if they are in the yard.” The board recorded concerns about maintaining citizens’ privacy; the 3-2 vote approved moving forward with the agreement and the specified mileage change.
