Richmond Heights City Council unanimously approved Resolution 63-2026 on July 1, adopting the city's alternative tax budget for the fiscal year beginning Jan. 1, 2027, and declaring an emergency so the action could take immediate effect. Council President Bobby Jordan moved to suspend the rules; Councilmember Shaw seconded the motion to suspend, and a subsequent motion to approve (moved by Councilmember Ursu and seconded by Councilmember Robinson) passed unanimously.
The alternative tax budget was presented on second reading and the council used its authority to suspend procedural rules before voting. The resolution will be submitted to the Cuyahoga County Budget Commission as required. No additional budget figures or departmental allocations were discussed on the record at the meeting.
