Commissioners approve consent agenda including major design and construction awards

St. Johns County commissioners approved an amended consent agenda by a 5–0 vote on Feb. 17 that included a range of administrative approvals, property acquisitions and construction awards.
Notable actions on the consent agenda included adoption of resolutions accepting temporary construction easements and deeds of dedication, authorization of franchise agreements for commercial and construction/demolition solid waste collection, and procurement awards: IFB No. 2727 for State Road 16 WWTF Reclaimed Water and In‑Plant Reuse Pump Stations was awarded to Ferreira Construction Co., Inc. at a total project bid price of $2,498,000; IFB No. 2667 for roadway and infrastructure improvements at Kings Estate Road and Hilltop Road, Phase 1, was awarded to Besch and Smith Civil Group, Inc. for a lump sum of $4,629,880.74. The board also authorized a not‑to‑exceed $559,751 award for design of a Medical Examiner’s Office expansion to Passero Associates, LLC.
Consent Agenda Item 19 and Item 20 were pulled for future hearings; Item 20 (Grants Administration Policy) was later scheduled as a future regular agenda item after a separate 3–2 vote to move it. The approved consent actions authorize the county administrator to execute contracts and transfers as specified in staff reports.
