Commissioners unanimously approve rezoning for "Nothing Putt Fun" family entertainment project

The Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a rezoning request for a proposed family entertainment center called "Nothing Putt Fun," rezoning roughly 3.98 acres at 7250 and 7280 U.S. 1 North from Commercial Neighborhood (CN) to Commercial Highway and Tourist (CHT) with conditions.
Matt Lahti of Gulfstream Design Group presented the application and addressed concerns raised by the Planning & Zoning Agency and neighbors. Opponents cited wetland impacts and traffic; the applicant team, represented by Lahti and Barrett Tennant, said the project would be one story, use 10-foot landscaping buffers, implement noise and lighting controls, limit family-friendly alcohol service and provide traffic mitigation. Tennant said the project was led by a local entrepreneur and that he had not yet purchased the property while finishing due diligence.
After rebuttal from the applicant team, the board enacted Ordinance No. 2026-1 on a motion by Commissioner Ann Taylor, seconded by Commissioner Murphy; the vote was 5-0.
