Sheriff: 200 calls; Fire chief: department on pace for 600+ calls in 2026 — reports at Slaughterville meeting

The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office lieutenant told trustees the office received 200 calls and filed 23 reports. Chief Tolson reported the fire department responded to 55 calls in December (41 required no aid, 5 were mutual-aid responses and 9 involved aid given) and said that, based on January numbers, the department is on pace for more than 600 calls in 2026. The fire department also plans to increase training to a quarterly schedule.
Planning & Development reported 40 permits issued in 2025 and that Josh Reagan will act as the liaison with Henry Code Compliance LLC. Town administration said Lowe Construction anticipates finishing a new playground by the end of February and warned that public-notice advertising costs will rise from roughly $105 to about $225 due to recent legislative action.
