Slaughterville trustees table proposed code-compliance contract and package of adopted building codes

The Slaughterville Board of Trustees on Jan. 27 voted to table two related items: a proposed contract for code compliance services with Henry Code Compliance LLC and an ordinance that would adopt a set of building and safety codes (IRC 2018; IBC 2018; IEBC 2018; IFC 2018; IFGC 2018; IMC 2018; IPC 2018; IPMC 2018; and the NEC 2023) for use within the town. Mayor Steve Easom moved to table the items and Trustee Herb Rousey seconded; the motion passed unanimously (Snellbaker, Rousey, Easom, Luby, Grady).
Planning & Development staff reported that the listed codes were recommended by the Oklahoma Uniform Building Code Commission and that Josh Reagan will serve as the town's liaison to Henry Code Compliance LLC on permitting and compliance issues. A member of the public spoke during the comment period about the two items; the minutes record only that a comment was made and do not detail its content. The board did not adopt the ordinance or approve a services contract during this meeting; both items were moved to the next month's agenda for further consideration.
