The Board of Trustees did not act Jan. 9 on two Fire Department requests because a department representative was not present. The first was approval of buying twenty sets of wildland gear (coat, pants and suspenders) at a cost not to exceed $10,548.60, with $8,568.92 proposed from a Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) 80/20 grant; the motion was tabled.
A second item — applying for a forestry grant to purchase a skid unit — was discussed only to record bids: Minute Manufacturing LLC $17,170.46 each; KickashSkid $23,900.00 each; MTech Inc. $31,135.00 each. No action was taken. The minutes do not record a funding commitment or timeline; the board will revisit these items when a Fire Department representative is present.
