The highway committee presented a timeline and two request‑for‑proposal documents: one for replacement of a RAM pickup and another for a 10‑wheel International dump truck. The committee recommended sending the RFPs immediately so bids could be opened around May 22–26 and finance options researched prior to the June 9 meeting.
"The idea would be for the select board to decide to whether or not to send out these RFPs so that they could be collected and opened on May 22," the highway presenter summarized. Committee members discussed state bid options, dealer availability, and lead times (committee members said factory build times for large trucks could be 2–2.5 years unless a unit is purchased from stock).
The board voted to authorize issuing the RFPs and asked the highway committee and treasurer to report financing options at the June meeting, including municipal loan and leasing alternatives to minimize immediate reserve outlays.
