Select board approves common-use permits for Grace Cottage Fair Day, WRED celebration and BDCC meeting

The Select Board approved multiple common-use requests. The board authorized Grace Cottage Hospital to use the common for Fair Day (setup July 27, breakdown Aug. 2, event Aug. 1) and later amended the motion to include a $100 fee. Members discussed crowding, parking and compaction of the common; one member said the event has outgrown the common while another defended its community value.
The board also approved WRED's end-of-year celebration for May 28 (1–6 p.m.) and granted Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation use of Town Hall on June 11 for a municipal leaders meeting; the board noted it would not waive fees for the BDCC event.
