The Select Board read correspondence from the library reporting a pine tree hanging over the back hill behind the library that staff described as potentially hazardous to patrons. The letter said the library has warned playgroup attendees not to park beneath the tree.
Highway staff and a Select Board member said the tree is hung up on a cherry and leans toward buildings; removal will likely require hiring a contractor with a crane. "It's it definitely has to be addressed," the highway staff member said. The board asked staff to prepare an RFP or to solicit bids for professional removal and to coordinate with insurance and the Vermont League of Cities and Towns on next steps.
