Sperry approves homecoming parade, Bike MS rest stop; Harvest Fest reminder set
Summary
The board approved the Sperry Alumni homecoming parade for Sept. 28 and allowed Bike MS Oklahoma to use a gazebo rest stop on Sept. 21–22; trustees also heard a reminder about the Sperry Harvest Fest scheduled Aug. 24.
Trustees unanimously approved a special event request from the Sperry Alumni Association to hold the annual homecoming parade on Sept. 28, 2024, and separately approved the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's request to route Bike MS Oklahoma through Sperry and to place a rest stop at "the gazebo" on Sept. 21–22, 2024.
The board also heard reports from the police and fire departments and were reminded that the Sperry Fire Ladies Auxiliary will hold the Sperry Harvest Fest on Aug. 24, 2024, at town hall from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mayor Robert Morton "encouraged the board of trustees members to attend this event and support the fire department and the ladies auxiliary." Trustees took no action on a Fill the Boot campaign item and on Fire Protection Week at this meeting.
Event approvals were recorded by unanimous votes. The minutes show dates and locations for the events; no additional permits or conditions were recorded in the minutes.
