The Richland Board approved an agreement with KCSOS Region V Migrant Education on Oct. 13 that reimburses the district for the Migrant Liaison’s July–August 2025 salary and for transportation costs tied to a December field trip. Assistant Superintendent Elia Sagasta presented the agreement and said Region V has hired a full‑time recruiter to be housed in the Parent Center to provide direct services to migrant families.
"KCSOS Migrant Education, Region V, will reimburse the District for the Migrant Liaison's salary for July and August 2025, which was initially paid from the District's general funds," Sagasta said in presenting the MOU. The board voted 5–0 to approve the agreement. District staff indicated the reimbursement and recruiter placement are intended to enhance services without imposing additional district general‑fund costs.
The transcript does not include a dollar figure for the reimbursement or a start date for the recruiter. District administrators will coordinate with KCSOS Region V for implementation details.
