Board awards asphalt contract; CBO warns pool parking will close during clubhouse work

The Richland Governing Board approved a contract with Bowman Asphalt, Inc. for $42,995.81 to repair and replace asphalt at the district office and Activity Center and to reconfigure parking and striping to improve visitor parking and emergency access.
Chief Business Official Martin Rodriguez said funding is available in Routine Restricted Maintenance Funds included in the 2025–26 budget. Rodriguez also reported that the swimming pool parking lot will be closed at times during gas-line installation and clubhouse construction; an additional gate will be installed for student and parent access, and the project is scheduled for completion by January 2026. The motion to approve the asphalt contract passed 5–0.
