Recovery partners urge residents to allow I STAT data-sharing to speed volunteer help

At the July 27 commissioners court meeting, long-term recovery representatives and emergency managers emphasized that residents filing I STATs should opt in to data sharing so volunteer organizations can receive and act on work orders.
Todd Bach of the county's long-term recovery group said the I STAT form includes an opt-in box that transfers submitted information into a TCR database used by VOAD partners. "I would encourage everyone to please allow your information to be shared," Bach said, explaining that shared data helps match requests to volunteers and contractors and avoids duplicated effort.
Emergency management staff and Kerr Together described how I STAT and PSTAT entries are being used to triage unmet needs, pair survivors with case managers, coordinate muck-outs and track long-term rebuilding tasks. Officials stressed that entries for damage sustained in prior years should be updated if re-impacted in 2026 so the county's long-term recovery database accurately reflects current needs.
