Committee approves ESInet readiness grant and additional NY CARES UP funds for dispatch and fire services

The committee also approved separate NY CARES UP appropriations: $41,475 to support CARES UP implementation for 911 dispatchers and $112,750 for Fire Services-focused wellness programs. Deputy Commissioner Gregory Schmid described ESInet capabilities — including multimedia messaging, improved location accuracy and automatic crash location — as foundational upgrades for next-generation 911.
All three motions carried at the committee level.
