M. Ullrich informed the Ag Board that Lucy Joyce is retiring from Cornell Cooperative Extension and that Ullrich will become the new director of Orange County CCE. As a result, Ullrich said she will resign from the Ag Board in the coming months and that a replacement board member will need to be identified.
The board discussed sponsoring 4‑H awards to support future farmers and suggested awarding agricultural supplies (for example garment bags, halters or wheelbarrows) rather than fair premiums; K. Brown recommended an amount in the $1,400 to $1,600 range. Ullrich said she would gather details and return with a proposal for the board to consider.
