Superintendent updated the board on several school construction projects, saying many classrooms are prepared for the upcoming year and work at Sharp Creek — including site back drive and parking — is underway.
"A lot of our classrooms most of our classrooms are set up, ready ready to go," the superintendent said while walking the board through project progress. The superintendent said some systems work (boilers and chillers) will be timed to offseason windows and that the district's goal is "to have everything completed by the end of October, if not sooner," though parts of the work could extend toward the end of the calendar year.
Superintendent also said the district will produce updated project videos to show progress on South End projects once more on-site activity resumes. Board members asked specific scheduling questions about access to newly completed gym facilities; the superintendent said new gym ports will be accessible at school start and that the East Gym completion is expected around October.
