City releases 399-response advisory survey on Crowfoot shooting-sports park

City staff presented the results of an advisory survey about a proposed Crowfoot shooting-sports park, saying staff received 399 valid responses and provided a more than 100-page packet to the council for review. "You had 399 total responses," staff member Nicole told the council as she handed out copies of the maps and tables.

The survey allowed respondents to select multiple options, which produced 516 total selections across categories such as continuing the city park, maintaining the facility with no new investment, archery-only, or asking the city for a one-time donation. Nicole explained the apparent discrepancy between two bar charts by noting that one chart counts each respondent once while another counts all selected options: "The top bar chart took everybody who responded...and if they said the city providing a one time donation, and they said, I want the city to continue developing, and I want to change the city park to archery. They got counted in each one of those categories." Council members asked procedural questions about how the maps and address filtering were constructed and Nicole said the packet (including maps showing roughly 30% of responses outside city limits and about 70% associated with Crowfoot range members) would be left for council digestion.

The staff presentation concluded with Nicole saying the packet is also posted online as part of the shooting-sports park open house materials. She did not recommend a specific action that evening; staff said they would await direction from the council on whether to pursue further public engagement or next steps.
