Eagle URA directs engineer Antonio Conte and counsel to draft legal description for Palmetto Avenue parcel

Engineer Antonio Conte, present in the audience, described the parcel as roughly 3,500 square feet and said it would be challenging to sell; "it's about 3,500 square feet," Conte said. Counsel recommended two paths: have the agency prepare the legal description and bill the hotel, or ask the hotel to supply the description. Butler moved that "Antonio Conte work with our city attorney to develop a legal description" and that Conte track and bill his hourly time, with results returned to the next meeting; the motion passed by roll call.
Board members discussed liability from holding the parcel and the low administrative burden of preparing paperwork in-house. The motion asked counsel and Conte to pursue either a quitclaim or simple conveyance and to report back, with the board noting they could require reimbursement or absorb minimal costs depending on follow-up. The board voted to approve the motion; staff will return a proposed settlement or next steps at the next meeting.
