Fire chief announces tree lighting, toy and food drive; new chaplain named

Fire Chief Bruce Allen briefed the council on Oct. and YTD activity and volunteer-hours totals, and said new firefighters completed their firefighting training at Browns Point Academy and have moved on to hazardous‑materials instruction. He announced Ruston’s Christmas tree lighting will be Dec. 6 at 6 p.m., and that the department’s annual toy and food drive runs Dec. 1 with pickup on Dec. 13.
Chief Allen also introduced EMT Moreau, who recently completed a public‑safety chaplaincy certificate and will serve both Ruston Police and Fire personnel. The department’s written monthly review was attached to the meeting record.
