At its Oct. 1 meeting the Ruston City Council approved several procedural items by unanimous (4‑0) votes: election of Councilmember Hedrick as Mayor Pro‑Tem, approval of the agenda, approval of the Sept. 17 minutes as amended (to reflect the Oct. 25 Red Cross Blood Drive), approval of claims for Oct. 1 and payroll for Sept. 20, and adjournment at 8:03 p.m.
Separately, the council tabled Resolution 801 (Rainier Communications Commission interlocal agreement) to the Oct. 15 meeting for further review; the motion to table passed 4‑0. Two ordinance items (Ord. 1584 and Ord. 1585) were presented for first reading only and no final votes occurred on either ordinance Oct. 1.
