Council praises Kickball turnout and introduces new Public Works maintenance technician

At the start of the meeting Mark Shingledecker thanked the council and community for participation in the July 4 Kickball in the Park event and said there had been "strong interest" and that "donations have started to come in for next year's event."
Mayor Hopkins introduced Mark Shingledecker as the new Public Works – Maintenance Technician, replacing Ray Johnson. Councilmembers Huson, Jensen and Holland each thanked Shingledecker for joining the staff. Councilmember Huson also announced a Cadillac and Lincoln Car Show on Winnifred (between 51st and 54th) on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 9 AM to 3 PM and thanked City Clerk Judy Grams for staying on until a replacement was found. No formal council action was recorded on the event or the personnel hire during this meeting.
