Commissioner John Alsop proposed the sentence, stating, "Pets and other animals, other than a dog meeting the criteria of a 'Service Animal' in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) are not allowed in the County Courthouse." The board reached consensus to adopt this language and direct staff to incorporate it into the handbook.
The change is limited to the courthouse and explicitly excepts ADA-defined service animals; no implementation date beyond incorporation into the handbook was recorded in the minutes.
