Commissioners approve nearly $770,000 in warrants and vote to oppose MDOC rule changes

Commissioners approved the Treasurer’s Warrant (Resolution 24-229) covering multiple funds: General Fund $331,577.70; SCJ $236,706.81; Unorganized Territory $76,176.55; TIF Tax Revenue $105,233.68; and TIF Community Benefit $20,000 — a total of $769,694.74. Commissioner Scott Seekins moved the approval; Commissioner Cyp Johnson seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
Separately, Administrator Tim Curtis said the Maine Department of Corrections is proposing rule changes that would have a negative financial impact on counties. Commissioners approved Resolution 24-226 to submit comments opposing the proposed changes; the Maine Sheriff’s Association is urging counties to comment during the public input period Dec. 5–19.
