Commissioners approve series of personnel hires and matching grant payments

At the Nov. 6 meeting the Somerset County Commissioners approved several personnel resolutions and Community Benefit payments.
Resolutions carried to recommission Andrew Bowman, Ian Shalit and Sydney Quigley as deputy sheriffs (Res. 24-210) and to hire Meaghan Brown and Cassidy Gray as legal secretaries for the District Attorney’s Office (Res. 24-211). The board also approved hiring Jonathan Taylor, Briana Suizdak, Olivia Gilman, Bruce Deane, Richard Cusson and Samuel Frankenfield as corrections officers (Res. 24-212). Commissioner Seekins moved the personnel items and Commissioner Alsop seconded; motions carried unanimously where tallies are recorded.
Commissioners also approved payments from Community Benefit funds under Res. 24-214: $5,000 to Sno-Devils Snowmobile Club (St. Albans) for building repairs and $15,000 to East Pond Association (Smithfield) for dam repairs. The minutes show no dissent and record motions carrying 4-0.
