EMA Director Mike Smith told the board the county received a Homeland Security Grant that funds four projects for a total of $158,570.34 and an Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) award of $78,336.74, the latter approximately 10% lower than the prior year. Commissioner Scott Seekins moved to accept both awards (Resolution 24-203); Commissioner Joel Stetkis seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
The grants will fund specific EMA projects and general EMA operations; Mike Smith did not enumerate all four Homeland Security projects at the Oct. 16 meeting. The acceptance was recorded as Resolution 24-203.
