The Somerset County Commissioners voted unanimously to award vehicle bids to Hight Chevrolet of Skowhegan for the Sheriff’s Office. Commissioner Cyp Johnson moved to award a 2025 Chevy Silverado (non-police package) at a net price of $48,708.00 after a $7,892 trade allowance; Commissioner Joel Stetkis seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
The board also approved a separate award for six 2025 Chevy Tahoe police-package units at $55,993 per unit, for a total of $335,958.00. Commissioner Scott Seekins moved the Tahoes award and Commissioner John Alsop seconded; the motion carried 5-0. The purchases were recorded as resolutions 24-201 and 24-202.
