Summary
Tyler Ruhd of Infotech Solutions told the Commission McCook County (an Office365 customer) could obtain a .gov domain through Infotech rather than rely on grant-funded SecureSD services that may end, potentially leaving the county with higher costs to maintain .gov email access.

Tyler Ruhd of Infotech Solutions briefed the commission on email domain options, saying McCook County already uses Office365 and could obtain a .gov domain through Infotech rather than rely solely on grant-funded SecureSD provisions. Ruhd warned that grant funds can be depleted, leaving the county to cover ongoing costs if it becomes dependent on that option.
Auditor Geralyn Sherman and Sheriff administrative staff were present for the update; the commission thanked Ruhd for the information and indicated staff would continue working on the issue with SecureSD as needed.
