Communications Director Tammy Barker told the commission the Central Square software update originally scheduled for September has been pushed to April–May while the contractor upgrades crucial files. Barker reported the Communications Center received 2,222 911 calls in the past month and noted generator maintenance for the courthouse is scheduled for Aug. 31, which will result in an outage of up to six hours.
The commission approved two staffing motions: Jeff Warner was approved as a full-time dispatcher and Shane Hunt was approved as Communications Deputy Director, both by 3-0 votes. The minutes also record that Dispatcher Shane Hunt was recognized for successfully helping deliver a baby over the phone.
